Loafing in the Sun Day 1

I woke up very early, freezing ccccold, as the A/C had been blowing on me all night! I turned it off and then went back to sleep!

The first thing we did, when we eventually did get up, was to explore the outside of the house in the daylight! It was lovely!

Then we had a swim! Ashamedly, both Paul and I still can't swim, so we had brought rings with us! However, we couldn't blow them up and the duck ring provided was pretty useless as you fell out the back!! We would have to get a pump!

Then we sat down and watched the Spain v Russia Euro 2008 semi-final - SPAIN won 3-0!! We went to the Subway up the road and then did a shop in Ralphs to stock up the fridge. We also got a pump and pumped up the rings and had a swim! It was just wonderful floating around in the water, cooling off - and we certainly did need to cool off as it was about 110 degrees F!! So relaxing.

After tea, we drove the short distance to Palm Canyon Drive; Palm Springs city centre, where, every Thursday evening, the streets are closed to traffic for the Villagefest. This is, basically, a load of stalls and musical entertainment! We strolled up and down the street, looking at this and that, but not buying anything. By about 9:30 we had seen enough and headed home, where Paul had a 'swim' in the lighted pool, although couldn't concentrate on his strokes too well, as a jumping spider had joined him!
