It didn't help that we had to drive back to Wawona to get petrol .. and it all made for a rather late start for the Valley.

We stopped (of course) firstly at Tunnel View. Of course, we've all seen pictures - but seeing it is SO MUCH more gorgeous. (PLEASE click for bigger picture).

Next, we stopped at the Bridalvail Falls car park and walked through the woods. This waterfall (unlike Yosemite Falls) never really stops falling - although what was falling now was only really a dribble, it was still wondrous.

up closer; the wind is blowing the water around - and the Sun creating rainbows all over the place!

It was very warm today. We stopped at a couple more places along the valley,

before stopping at the Village Shop, where we bought a few things (I bought a wooden box). We would've liked to have looked around the Visitor Center but, because it was past Labor weekend, the shuttle from the carpark to the center no longer ran - and, as you were only allowed to park for 30 minutes at the Store carpark, we would never have had time to walk there and back. They really ought to do something about that!

Next, we stopped on the road towards the Ahwahnee Hotel to eat our lunch. And then we had a nose at the Ahwahnee Hotel. Very posh! We had a quick look around the gift shops and used their toilets ('Women' was upstairs, needless to say).

On the other side of the Valley, we stopped off at the foot of El Capitan and watched the climbers!! How brave are they!!

Then we left the Valley and headed up towards Glacier Point. Wow!! It wasn't quite as scary (height-wise) as I had feared and, although it didn't go right to the edge and look down the 3000 feet sheer drop, I felt comfortable enough. It was just - well - as with all of Yosemite - AWESOME!!

West Yosemite mailboxes!

On the way back, we spotted mule deer in amongst the trees and, when we got back to Cozy Bear, there was a COYOTE roaming around! He just walked by, glancing back at us as he went! Unfortunately, I wasn't quick enough to get the camera.

Cooked steak for supper and we all had showers, intent on an early night - which we never actually achieved!

there was a toy box in the cabin - contents of which contained these!
