Finished packing and checked out. I couldn't find my sunglasses, but a grab back of the key and a search of the room didn't find them - although it did find my trainers and a pair of sandals which I'd left under the bed .... (later found my sunglasses in amongst the laptop leads ....) so, a taxi to the Plaza de Toro and down to the heated depths of the car-park, by the toro, to collect the car. ![]() ![]() Amazingly, we escaped Seville pretty easily and stopped only once en route back to Portugal, passing all those millions of olive and orange groves. ![]() what ARE these bushes called? ![]() last stop in Spain We turned off into Tavira and followed the signs for Santa Luzia, where we stopped to take some photos - what a lovely place - very quaint. ![]() ![]() We checked into Pedreas del Rei - beautiful grounds! Our apartment; very nice - with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a huge terrace, covered in bougainvillea. I'd only booked a 1 bedroom apartment, so they must've run out of 1's and upgraded us to a 2 for free!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We crashed for a while, then went shopping in the 'camp' for food, wine etc. We made a sandwich and crashed once more before driving into Tavira, via delightful Santa Luzia again. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We walked over the Roman Bridge and decided on Restaurante Pont de Encontro for dinner. Started off with breads, cheese, olives and fish (sardine and tuna) paste. Then I had the swordfish with Algarve garnish, Terry had the swordfish with Tavira garnish and Paul had the veal. For dessert, T had banana split, Paul chocolate mousse and I had "a taste of Algarve", which was very rich cake, made of almonds and figs. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We stopped and watched the orchestra rehearsing for a while (some festival was on) - while the guys with the bbq and sangria setup for their LFC funds, were sinking badly, with only one customer. :( ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
