I listened to this whilst watching Real Madrid play Oviedo. The match sounded exciting. It sounded like we were playing quite well. I was disappointed in the draw though. We beat these so convincingly in the coppa - and yet struggled really hard tonight. Was the difference Vieri?? I was always under the impression that teams with new managers always won their first game (a la Everton v Liverpool when Uncle Joe came on board - what a game! :)). Still, a draw at the San Siro is not to be sniffed at, I suppose - and I really should be more positive and supportive. I couldn't help wishing though, as I listened, that we had just one "Raul" or just one "Figo" or even just one "McManaman" (some goal Macca) in our side. I knew also that, had I been able to see Parma playing, it would've come nowhere near to matching the fabulous stuff I was seeing on the TV. And yet they could be capable of that. Some of them, at least. Why don't they then? Is it the way with Serie A? Even Roma didn't impress me yesterday. (Do I detect a chorus of "we are invincible" there?) Italian football is disappointing this season. Not just Parma. I wonder why that might be?
