Up 8ish and T and I went down to breakfast - bacon, scrambled egg, sausage, cheese, croissant and honey. Then we were all packed up and dragging our light liggage back up the Avenida da Liberdade, stopping at the Cambio and shopping for souvenirs/figts - then to the Hard Rock Cafe where we all (eventually) bought T-shirts. ![]() railway station ![]() ![]() ![]() We were going to have a drink there, but we decided, instead, to sit outside for coffee and moonshakes. ![]() ![]() We got the car out and all was well until we missed the burning for the Bridge (again!) - so we went to Sintra!! We parked in the little town first, which was buzzing with people - a quick look in the Palacio Nacional and a wonder through some lovely little streets and ate cornettos (again!) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then, up, up, up to the "Disney" reminiscent Palacio da Pena. We parked, bought tickets and got the little bus up the hiss and wandered around the battlements, towers and through some of the rooms. Fantasyland! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Back to the car, we stopped at a McD not far out of Sintra and then we drove down and successfully found the bridge and left lovely Lisbon. We made just a couple of stops at service stations and arrived back at the villa at about 7:30. ![]() ![]() It was good to be home! |
